Whether you use ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or any other MCP-compatible client, you can connect it to Neume and start creating music through conversation.

What Is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard created by Anthropic that lets AI applications connect to external services. Think of it as a universal plug that lets your AI assistant talk directly to tools like Neume.

Instead of switching between apps, you just tell your AI what you want and it calls Neume’s API behind the scenes.

How to Connect Neume to Your AI Assistant

What You’ll Need

• A Neume account (sign up free at app.neume.io)
• An MCP-compatible AI client (ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.)

Connection Details

• MCP Server URL: https://api.neume.io/v1/mcp
• Transport: Streamable HTTP
• Authentication: OAuth 2.1 — your client will prompt you to log in with your Neume account on first connection

ChatGPT

1. Open ChatGPT settings → Tools & Integrations
2. Add a new MCP server
3. Enter the URL: https://api.neume.io/v1/mcp
4. Select transport: Streamable HTTP
5. When prompted, sign in with your Neume account
6. Start chatting — ask ChatGPT to make you a song!

Claude

Claude supports MCP connections directly through claude.ai:

1. Go to Settings → Connectors → Custom Connector
2. Enter a name (e.g. “Neume”) and the remote MCP server URL: https://api.neume.io/v1/mcp
3. Click Add
4. When prompted, sign in with your Neume account

That’s it — Claude can now generate songs, check your balance, and more.

Cursor / Windsurf / Other MCP Clients

Most MCP clients follow the same pattern:

1. Add https://api.neume.io/v1/mcp as a Streamable HTTP server
2. Authenticate when prompted
3. The tools will appear automatically
