Neume MCP serverLive

A music MCP server for your assistant.

Neume's MCP server gives any AI assistant real music tools. It can make songs with vocals, play them in the chat, change the words of one part in the same voice, and remake a whole song in a new style. Every song is saved to your Neume account.

What is the Neume MCP server?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to outside services. Neume's MCP server is a remote server: you add its URL to your assistant, sign in with your Neume account, and ask for music in plain words.

In assistants that support MCP Apps, songs show up as a card with a player, synced lyrics, and Change lyrics and Reimagine buttons. Elsewhere, like a terminal, you get the song's details and a link to play it.

What you can do

Ask in plain words. Neume does the music.

Your assistant picks the right tool, and checks with you before anything that uses credits.

1 credit

Make a song

Describe it or paste your lyrics. Your assistant writes the words with you, shows them to you, and makes the song when you're happy.

Free

Play it in the chat

The song shows up as a card with a player, and the lyrics light up line by line as they're sung.

1 credit

Change one part

New words for a verse or chorus, sung again in the same voice. The melody and the rest of the song stay as they are.

2 credits

Reimagine it

The whole song again in a new style, like an acoustic ballad or a 1980s funk track. Your original is kept.

ChatGPT only1 to 2 credits

Turn a hum into a song

Attach a hum, a voice memo or a recording, and Neume sings it again in the style you choose.

Free

Find your songs

Ask for your songs and play them from the list. Everything is saved to your Neume account and the app.

Good to know

Frequently asked
questions.

What is a music MCP server?

It's a service an AI assistant can connect to through MCP, the Model Context Protocol, to make and work with music. Neume's MCP server lets your assistant make songs with vocals, change their lyrics and remake them in new styles, all from the chat.

Which assistants work with Neume?

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in, including Claude, ChatGPT (with developer mode until Neume is listed in its app directory), Grok, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code.

Do I need an API key?

No. You sign in with your Neume account through OAuth the first time your assistant connects. Your client registers itself, so there's nothing to copy.

Which transport does it use?

Streamable HTTP, at https://api.neume.io/v1/mcp. ChatGPT uses https://api.neume.io/v1/openai-mcp, which adds tools for audio you attach.

Why don't I see the song card?

The card is an MCP App. Assistants that support MCP Apps, like ChatGPT, Claude and VS Code, draw it in the chat. Others, like a terminal, show the song's details and a link instead. The tools work the same either way.

How much does it cost?

Tools that make or change music use your Neume credits: 1 for a new song or a lyric change, 2 to reimagine a song. Everything else is free. Your assistant checks with you before using credits.

Add Neume to your assistant.

Add one URL, sign in with your Neume account, and ask for a song.
